The Duo and thier History

Daft Punk is a first wave acid house/techno group formed in 1993. Comprised of the duo Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. They came together with similar tastes in music and were influenced by music groups such a the Beach Boys and The Rolling Stones. They met at the same school they attended which was the Lycee Carnot Secondary School in Paris, Fance. They both started a band together with some other people named "Darlin'". After the band had broken up, de Homem-Christo and Bangalter still made music together.
